How I Freeze Fresh Parsley for Winter

Parsley is another herb I like to preserve when I have more than I can use fresh.

The process is identical to basil. Wash it well, dry it extremely thoroughly, then freeze it in a way that makes it easy to grab only what you need later.

I use frozen parsley constantly in cooked dishes through the colder months, so having it prepped ahead saves me from buying bunch after bunch at the store.

A few things I’ve learned along the way:

  • My freezer method for all herbs is the same.

  • Let it dry completely - moisture is what creates excess ice.

  • Remove any damaged or wilted pieces before freezing.

  • Use it straight from the freezer in cooked dishes.

I put the complete process - washing , drying, storing + how I use it later into one easy guide below.
